like many houses of worship built in the 1950ies and 1960ies, the architecture of the bonner sankt helena church too derives its power from the experience of the survival of the recently past war. the completely new start after the horrors of dictatorship unfolds from nothing, from an empty space. even the altar is brought to the middle of the space to give transparent visibility to everyone, in every direction.
the empty room also becomes a central theme in the visual arts and electronic music of the time, which seeks with sine waves to break out in to the unblemished freedom of a new era. for this concert, the berlin-düsseldorf trio to rococo rot, consisting of robert and ronald lippok and stefan schneider, will present a decentralized composition, which carries forward the expression of this attitude towards life. the music will take the tone of the solitary church bell from sankt helena as its point of departure, filling the space with its free and ecumenical sense of play.
